Acting

“Every art has a spine upon which the entire structure rests. “ - Daniel Nagrin

We strive to teach our vocal students proper technique integrating all styles of training: classical, Broadway and pop. All students receive a free vocal evaluation to determine readiness. Our faculty all have degrees in voice and music and understand that premature training can do more harm than good. The voice matures at different rates in different students, and premature training can lead to bad habits and damage to the vocal chords. Our students success is determined not by their belt but by their virtuosity and ability to relate to the material that they are singing.

OUR GOAL

It is our goal to produce properly trained students who not only sound good, but understand how to use their instrument and take care of it and succeed in performance. In addition, it is essential that they become multi-faceted in their vocal repertoire, acquire the acting ability to connect with their vocal selections and know how to present themselves on stage. All students are invited to perform in at least one vocal recital per year.
