Policies

Class Changes or Cancellations

May be made based on enrollment. The faculty reserves the right to place or move students according to technical ability. PACC also reserves the right to change instructors.


Tardiness and Absences

Promptness is expected. If you are going to be more than ten (10) minutes late please contact the studio by phone. In the event that you are late, you must request permission to enter class from your instructor. We require that you call the studio if you are going to miss class. It is the student's responsibility to make up classes in the same level during the same semester.


Liability

We are not responsible for personal injury or lost property. Students and parents (guardians) release claims of liability while studying dance, voice and acting at the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut, LLC.



Attire

Dance Attire:

Proper dance attire for all classes is required.

Jazz:

Leotard, dance pants, half top or dancewear of choice. Shoes choice of instructor.

Tap:

Dancewear of choice. Shoes choice of instructor.

Modern:

Dancewear of choice. Bare feet.

HipHop:

Dance or athletic wear and dance sneakers.

Ballet:

Our ballet program is leveled and follows a syllabus. Leotard colors for each level are indicated in our dance information. Hair must be in a bun or french braided - no pony tails.

Opens:

Dancewear of choice and proper shoes.

Hair:

For all classes hair must be pulled neatly and securely away from face.

Acting Classes and Workshops:

Dress comfortably, ready to work, ready to move. Hair Must be pulled neatly and securely away from face.



Studio Etiquette

Proper courtesy and respect for all those taking classes is expected. No food or beverages, aside from water are allowed in any of the dance, acting or voice studios. Our lounge area is provided for students to do homework, eat or just relax before or after classes. Everyone is expected to clean up after himself or herself. A changing room is provided for both girls and boys to store personal belongings during classes



Scholarshps

Information on scholarships, will be available in-house, on our website and through advertisements. Scholarships are awarded on both talent and financial need basis. Scholarship students must take a predetermined schedule of classes and have certain duties and responsibilities within the studio.



Auditions

IN MOTION: PACC Performance Dance Company

Information will be available in-house, on our website and through advertisements. This is a performance company; in addition to company classes there will be choreography and rehearsal sessions. Company members do not have to be students of the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut - they may study elsewhere. Please refer to our brochure on IN MOTION: PACC Performance Dance Company.


Connecticut Voices

Vocal performance group to be established by the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut, LLC . More information will be available soon.



Cancellations

Class Cancellations due to weather will be posted on our website and on our telephone answering service by 12 noon of the day in question. Classes cancelled due to weather will not be made up. Class cancellations due to instructors canceling and no substitute faculty being available, will be made up by the studio. Classes missed by the student due to illness or for other personal reasons are the responsibility of the student to make up during the current dance year by taking any other dance class in their level.
